I Like Myself

Yesterday I went babysitting and I was putting the little girl to bed and we read a bedtime story.  It was called "I Like Myself" by Karen Beaumont.  I read it and I think that the book was more for me than it was for her.  It was so cute and had the best meaning- love yourself for you.
Here's just some of it.

"I like myself! I'm glad I'm me.
There's no one else I'd rather be.
cause nothing in this world, you know,
can change what's deep inside, and so....
No matter if they stop and stare,
no person
ever
anywhere
can make me feel that what they see
is all there really is to me."

This book really just made me feel all the better because it is so true.  Love yourself for who you are.  Don't let anyone make you feel sad or worthless.  We are important in our own way.

The Best Way to Spread Christmas Cheer, is Singing Loud for All to Hear

It's Christmas Eve!!!  Ya ok that's obvious but sometimes I don't think I feel the Christmas spirit.  Or maybe I become just a little bit grumpy, which of course is not what having Christmas Cheer is. I mean Christmas is tomorrow. We all should have Christmas Cheer.  So here's my advice... I once heard this quote from a good man named Buddy the elf- "The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear."  I like that a lot.  So this season I have found myself singing... a lot (Shocker I know) and it just seems to work. I love singing my guts out to Christmas music because it does bring Christmas Cheer.  So lets all sing loud for all to hear this Christmas.

December Family Fun

I am so blessed to have such an amazing family.  I love them so much.  I love December and all the fun things I get to do in my family.  My sister has been in college and she is on school break so she has gotten to come down and do some of this stuff with us.

At the beginning of December I had a dance recital.  The best part was it was my  little sister's first recital.  It is fun and cute to watch her dance.  I love that we're both able to dance.

In December my family usually manages to get tickets to the Tabernacle Choir concert with the guest singer and storyteller.  This year I was able to go with my brother and sister.  It was so cool and amazing to hear the Christmas music and see all the dancers and decorations too.  I always walk away from those concerts with the best feeling.  The Christmas Cheer feeling.

One Christmas tradition my family has is we watch a very edited version of Christmas Vacation.  It's pretty and it's fun to laugh together as a family.  Another Christmas tradition we have is we go to Salt Lake City and eat dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory and then of course go and see the Temple Square lights.  It's always such a fun adventure to go with my family.  It's also cool to see the temple and all the nativities.

I love December and all the fun things I get to do with my family.  Happy December! :)

Simple Joys in Life

So today I was a little grumpy for no reason at all but I knew that I wanted to be happy because I can choose to be and it always feels better.  I started to look for everything, even the littlest things, to enjoy.  First at lunch I was able to have a good conversation about basketball and boys with one of my good friends.  Then I had dance, which happened to be the best dance day ever.  We got into little groups to make up our own Christmas dance.  Oh the things we come up with.  I'm telling you those dances were probably some of the funniest things of my life.  Next I was able to go to my grandma's house because my mom was having a party at our house.  The best part at grandma's was eating cookies 'n cream ice cream with my grandma.  Mmmm I love ice cream!  Then I went babysitting for a little bit and it was so cute to see the little boy I was babysitting, looking out the window waiting for me.  Then when I came home from babysitting I walk to my door and sitting on the doorstep is a box of chocolates from our neighbors.  Oh what would life be like without chocolate?  Then I walk inside and I look into our fridge to find strawberry Yoplait yogurt, which happens to be my favorite.  We don't get it that often so it was joyful to eat some.  Yummy.  These are little, simple things but they made my day all the better.  May we live life enjoying the simple things in it.

Oh Wonderboy!

Well I have found a hero...his name is Hercules.  Let's face it, I'm obsessed.  I just completely love the Disney movie Hercules.  First, he is so HAWT and so nice.  Second he is a true hero.  Zeus even said so.  I also just love Meg.  She sooo deserves Hercules.  I love her sweet and sexy personality.  I also just love that show because it makes me feel all twitterpaited and that is THE BEST feeling ever!  Oh and lets not forget the amazing music.  I just wish I could sing like a black lady every time I watch it.  I still sing along anyway even if I don't sound the best.  And overall it just has a great lesson and moral to complete the fabulous movie.  So if you haven't seen Hercules, please do.  I don't think your life will be complete without it. ;)

Laugh Out Loud

So I great discovery I have made is that I should laugh when I can.  Laughing just makes me feel so much better.  Especially when I'm laughing with my friends.  Sometimes I laugh at myself and sometimes I laugh with someone or at someone or just something.  To me laughing is just great.  When I'm feeling down and something just cracks me up, I just have to laugh and wow I feel so much better.  Laughing can just brighten up my day.  Ok so a lot of times I'm a wierdo and embarrassing things can happen, but I just have to learn to laugh about it because it happens a lot.  It just works out better to laugh.  I also love it when someone is funny and I just laugh and laugh.  I've also heard that laughing makes you live longer.  I will probably be living for quite some time then.  So I will remember to laugh everyday because everyday needs a little bit of happiness. ;)

It's Christmas Time

This week has been pretty crazy.  I went to Temple Square to see the lights, two dance performances (At Festival of the Trees and BYU Christmas Party), I got my mechanical baby this weekend, we got our Christmas tree and started decorating the house, and went shopping.  It all has been so fun and exiting.  It is fun to do these things every year.  This year has been especially interesting with my mechanical baby too. ;)

Oh Christmas tree

Me all decked out with Kirsti

Even though it's been busy it always has been good for me to be reminded the true meaning of Christmas, to remember Christ and him coming to earth and it is the season of giving because Christ was the ultimate gift.  So this season remember and serve others because it's Christmas time. :)

Dear Santa. . .

Ok so Santa Claus came to the city's library and I went with my siblings to go see him.  Yes!  It made my day.  And yes I did sit on his lap, almost crush his leg, and whisper in his ear what I wanted for Christmas.  So after my mummy took a picture and and told Santa what I wanted, I got my cute little bag of candy.  I'm telling ya, it just can't get better than this. ;)

Tis the Season to be Jolly

Ok so this week has been great with Thanksgiving.  I am really thankful for so many things.  I'm glad I could post a few on my blog.  Thanksgiving is just fabulous and makes me really happy each year.  Now Thanksgiving is over, which I will miss, but, Christmas is coming!  I love Christmas and the happiness it brings to me and others.  I'm so exited.  So we have put up our Christmas lights and today we went to see Sinterklaas.  That is Holland's Santa Claus.  My dad went to Holland on his mission so it's a tradition to go up to this Dutch store and see Sinterklaas every year.  It's really fun.  It makes me happy to start getting into the Christmas spirit.  May we all be jolly this season and enjoy the little things in life.

Thankful #15 . . . Music

I am and will forever be thankful for music. It is in a great part of my life.  I love it sooo much.  I love the great feelings it can give to you that nothing else can.  I also love it because it just makes me want to dance.  I love just singing and dancing in my room to music for no reason at all or blasting the music in my car with the windows down singing my guts out. I just love, love, love music.  I really would not survive without it.  With music I also love to sing.  People who know me will always find me singing, anytime, anywhere.  Some people might be annoyed but I can't help myself.  I love it.  So I also play the piano and a little bit of the ukulele.  I love the music they can make.  It is just fun to sing and play them for fun.  It's a great way to make me feel better too.  I love music and everything about it.  I am so thankful for it.

Thankful #14 . . . Stories

Today I'm really thankful for stories.  Plays, movies, books, whatever it is, I love it all.  I love when it gets cold and I find a good book and I go sit in the corner of my couch.  It's on old couch so when you sit on it you sink into it which makes me all cozy.  It's great.  Then you read that amazing book and go into a whole other world.  Pretty cool.  Then on those lazy days when I don't feel like doing anything, yes, open up the movie cupboard.  I usually go to the Disney classics! ;) It's just the way I role.  Then the fun plays that you go to when you feel like your in the story itself!  Ya amazing.  I'm just so thankful for stories overall and the messages and feelings that they can bring into my life.  It's always fun when a new story comes out and you can see what you get out of it.  Thankful for stories! ;)

Thankful #13 . . . Flash Mob Dances

So this past Friday I was in a flash mob dance.  It was for the intermountain heart care sponsored by Dr. Miller.  It was sooo much fun.  I had such a blast.  Even though it was really cold, it was still worth it.  Dancing is just so much fun. I absolutely love it.  Doing it on a street with mostly girls you didn't know was different, but that's what partially made it so much fun.  It was also cool seeing the people that watched us.  Plus it was for a good cause.  So I'm thankful for flash mob dances and the good things that happen with them.

Yes the human in the middle with the white shirt is me.  Awww so cute.

Thankful #12 . . . Seasons

So I'm grateful for seasons.  Here the weather is so bipolar, but you get used to it.  Earlier today it was fall.  There were crunchy leaves and beautiful trees.  Now it is snowing... a lot.  Like huge snowflakes.  I think it's kinda cool though that I can experience all four seasons even if the weather can be bipolar.  It's a good change up throughout the year.  It's fun to be able to feel and experience all you can in the year.  So thankful for seasons.

Thankful #11 . . . Freedom

Well today I'm really grateful for my freedom.  I can do what I want when I want and make my own choices.  There are so many choices that I'm so glad that I get to make them.  It's my life and I'm so glad that I can choose to live it how I want.  I can laugh and be crazy and wear and sing and watch what I want.  I can't imagine what my life would be like if I wasn't free.  I'm just so glad I am.

Thankful #10 . . . The Holidays

So I love this time of year when all these holidays come around.  I'm thankful for holidays.  This time of year just has such a great feeling.  It's that warm, loving, cozy, feeling.  I love November when there's pretty colors on the trees and leaves are falling everywhere.  November is the month of thanksgiving. (Which is the reason I'm doing these thankful posts)  I really love thanks giving because it helps me realize how blessed I am and how grateful I should be for everything I have.  Being thankful for things I have helps me to think on the positive side.  Plus I love thanksgiving because of all the yummy food!  So then there's Christmas with that great feeling of love and unselfishness.  Christmas is just so fun.  You're out of school, you can play in the snow, you go shopping for presents,  Christmas lights (my pops outlines everything on our house with lights, he loves Christmas lights), Christmas tree (we get a real one that makes our house smell yummy), gingerbread houses, and its that exiting feeling you get waiting for Christmas morning.  I also love hearing Christmas music and decorating for Christmas and seeing Christmas decorations.  Christmas is also good of course because it's a celebration of Christ's birth and it's always fun to put out nativities and see baby Jesus.  I just love, love, love Christmas.  Then there's New Years too and I always go to Arizona to be with my extended family on my dads side which is about 20 adults with about 60 crazy cousins.  It's always a huge party and just fun to celebrate and be loud. ;) So Happy Holidays!

Thankful #9 . . . Education

Ok so I'm so grateful for the education I can get in my life.  With school and other activities I do.  Education=Power and Freedom.  I'm truly blessed to get such a great education and get to learn so much for me to have a better future.  I would rather be smart than stupid and dumb.

Thankful #8 . . . Home

It's starting to get really cold and I am so thankful for my home.  It keeps me warm when it is cold and it keeps me cool when it is hot.  It also protects me from the rain and snow.  Home is just a comfortable place to think of.  It's where I live and have been living for all the years of my life.  It is home.

Thankful #7 . . . Sports

Well I have always loved sports.  Especially football and Basketball.  I really love football season and being able to go to all the the high school Viking games and one of my brothers football games.  I also get to go to some of the BYU football games like last night.  Whether I go or not to BYU football games I always watch it on TV.  And yes, I can understand football too. ;)  I've been watching it with my pops for as long as I can remember.

My friend, Kylie, and me at a BYU football game

My brother at his Viking football game

My Pops and Me at a BYU football game (Sorry I look ridiculous in this picture)

I'm really exited to for the basketball season to start up.  I can go watch my buddies play basketball at school, watch my little brothers play rec ball, I'll play church ball (which I'm not very good at but it's OK), and of course watch BYU basketball.  (Forget about the NBA)  So of course I watched the first BYU basketball game this season (without Jimmer) and pretty much BYU lost.  OHHHH I MISS JIMMER FREDETTE!  He would never let them lose to Utah State.  It's OK though the team will get better and everything will be OK.

Me at a BYU basketball game.

My Jimmer Shirt

MmmmMmmm flexing just for me ;)

Jimmer in action!
In case you can't tell I'm in LOVE with Jimmer...

So then there's those other sports in between that I'll watch but there not as big of a deal for me but they're still good.  Viking and BYU Volleyball, Brother's Baseball, and a little bit of Soccer.

So there you have it.  I'm very thankful for sports.

Thankful #5 . . . Love/ Twitterpaited

I am sooo very thankful for love and twitterpation.  It's such a great feeling whether it's from your family, friends, or maybe even the boy you like... No matter who it's from it's the best.  With love it's that warm, fuzzy feeling nothing else can give you.  With twitterpaition it's that giddy feeling you get and you can't focus on anything else because of course you thinking about the boy!  Both are fabulous and I'm so thankful for them.

Just some love pictures

Thankful #4 . . . Healthy Body

Well today I am thankful for a healthy body.  Even though I get little sicknesses here and there I am so blessed to have a body that is healthy.  I have all my fingers and toes, I have legs and arms, I have everything on my face that should be there-nose, eyes, mouth, ears.  Well the list goes on.  I also have all five senses-hear, see, smell, taste, and touch.  I am seriously so thankful for my body.

Thankful #3 . . . LDS Church

So today I'm thankful for the LDS Church that I belong to.  It is such a great thing in my life.  I would literally be nothing without it.  It helps me when I need it most.  I love the gospel and I'm so thankful for it.

Thankful #2 . . . Dance

Today I'm thankful for dance.  Partially because I had it today.  It was just grand.  I love dance because it is just such a fun way to express yourself.  If there's music then I just have to dance.  I really don't know what I'd do without it.  It's a feeling I can't explain but I will be forever grateful for dance.  May we dance whenever we get the chance. :)

Thankful #1. . . Food

OK so my cousin has this tradition on her blog where everyday in November until Thanksgiving she says something she's thankful for on her blog so I decided I'd do it too, even though it's the 6th day of November.  Better late than never.  So today I'm thankful for food.  I'm so blessed to not be starving like some people in this world.  I have all the food I could ever need.  I am so thankful for that.  Thanks to all the yummy food I can enjoy every day.

Everybody Wants To Be Loved

I have come to discover that love is sooo important in our lives.  When people love us and we are able to love others, life just seems so much better with love all around.  But why is it that it's so much easier to love others when people love us?  Well to me maybe it's because we feel better about ourselves and it's easier to be selfless to love others.  Sometimes some people cause me to feel like nothing because of what they do or say.  It's awful because then I become this selfish person on asking myself why is life so horrible when it's really not and why doesn't anybody love me when there are people that do.  So I will do my best to try to overcome this and just remember that I am loved so I can love others.  I also challenge those who are feeling this way to do the same.  Maybe we can cause a ripple of love.  Love someone to make them feel good enough to love someone too and it can go on and on.  Don't forget when you feel alone and unwanted that there is always someone there who loves you...The Lord.

My Crazy Halloween

So Halloween was pretty fun.  I got candy and watched some Halloween stuff on TV with some friends and made Halloween sugar cookies.  Ya good stuff.  Well for Halloween I was a farmer.  Yes a farmer and a fat one too.

Ya lets just say I'm pretty crazy.  But the best part was the reaction I got when I went to school.  Some people stared, some people just laughed, and a couple even called me a pregnant farmer. NOT TRUE.  I had just put on a couple pounds. ;)  Well I'm glad I could at least get a couple laughs for my weirdness.
Here's my siblings in their costumes (except my older sis Kes who's in college). I just gotta admit though that I'm the cutest!

Yep notice the cute pumpkins we carved in the background.  Fun stuff!
Well goodbye Halloween!  It was fun.
